NEW DELHI: US-based liquor maker Beam Inc today said it has appointed Vidyut Arteas the Managing Director (MD) of its India operations with effect from December 2.
Arte, joins Beam from Mondelez International, where he is currently Managing Director, Multi Category and Gum and Candy, South East Asia, Beam Inc said in a statement.
"We are very excited that Vidyut is joining Beam to lead our India business, including our market-leading Teacher's Scotch brand, into its next stage of growth," Beam's Managing Director for Emerging Markets Arthur Aroney said.
Arte's management, sales and marketing experience in India and across Asia will be incredibly valuable, Aroney added.
Arte succeeds Aroney, who has been managing the India business on an interim basis.
Over a 20-year career at Cadbury, now part of Mondelez, Arte served in roles of increasing responsibility, including leading sales and marketing for Cadbury India, leading the company's business in China, and most recently, serving as Managing Director, Thailand.
Beam Inc currently sells Teacher's Highland Cream, Teacher's 50-12 Years Old and the recently introduced Teacher's Origin, Teacher's 25 Year Old and Teacher's Highland Single Malt in India.
