SALT SPRAY CHAMBER (FOG METHOD) -270L The equipment has been designed suitably for evaluating the corrosion resistance of the surface treatment of metallic material by salt spray test method in accordance with ASTM B117 and shall satisfy the test condition as follows. 1. The atomizing nozzles shall not atomize directly on the test piece. 2. The drop and solution accumulated on the ceiling shall not drip on the test piece. 3. The solution dripped from the test piece shall not be used for test again. 4. The spray pressure shall be kept between 0.7 and 1.1 Kg/cm2. 5. The exposure zone of the salt spray chamber shall be maintained at 35 ? 2 deg C. 6. The material of the test chamber shall not be corroded itself. CONSTRUCTION • It consists of a test chamber, an air saturator, a solution supply tank, a control panel. • The spraying mechanism and the construction of the salt spray chamber made of filter reinforced plastic mould is as per the details given the relevant standard. The salt spray is produced by specially designed glass atomizers employing compressed air from supply line through filter regulator. • The air pressure for spraying and agitation of salt solution can be adjusted by control valves. • The air from the compressor is connected to the chamber through air filter, pressure regulator and a saturation tank through which the air is bubbled & heated up electrically to maintain the temperature inside the chamber constant at 35?2 deg C by means of a digital temperature controller. • The saturation tank supplies a heated, humidified clean air for atomization of the solution. It consists of a stainless-steel tank, a heater, a bubbling nozzle, a pressure regulator and a pressure gauge. • Mist Spray shall distribute evenly. CONTROL PANEL • A control panel fitted with all measuring and controlling instruments has been provided for safe and easy operation of the equipment. All function settings can be done from here.
