Description

The FK-5-1-12 Fire Suppression System is a clean agent total flooding system that uses the chemical Dodecafluoro-2-methylpentan-3-one (trade name: Novec™ 1230 by 3M, also sold under other brands) as the extinguishing medium. It is one of the most environmentally friendly and equipment-safe gas-based fire suppression options available today. How It Works Stored as a liquid in pressurized cylinders (typically with nitrogen at 25 or 42 bar). Upon discharge, rapidly vaporizes into a gas. Extinguishes fire by absorbing heat (cooling) and disrupting the combustion chemical chain reaction. Floods the enclosure within 10 seconds or less, per NFPA requirements.
