A Total Flooding Clean Agent System is a type of gaseous fire suppression method where the entire enclosed space is filled with a clean agent to extinguish a fire—rather than directing it only at the fire source (like a local application system). It’s the most common clean agent protection method for rooms such as data centers, control rooms, and electrical switchgear rooms. As per NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520: A total flooding system discharges an extinguishing agent into an enclosed space in sufficient concentration to suppress or extinguish a fire anywhere within that space, regardless of where it starts.
