A Gas-Based Fire Suppression System is a fire protection method that uses specialized gaseous agents to extinguish fires without water, foam, or powder, making it ideal for protecting sensitive equipment, electronics, and high-value assets. It is a broader category under which Clean Agent Systems (FM-200, Novec 1230, Inergen) and CO2 Flooding Systems both fall. A gas-based fire suppression system: Discharges an extinguishing gas (stored in high-pressure cylinders) into the protected enclosure. Suppresses fire by: Absorbing heat (cooling the flame zone), Interrupting the combustion chemical reaction, or Reducing oxygen concentration below combustion levels. Leaves no residue (in clean agents) and minimal post-discharge cleanup.
