Description

Diesel Engine Model 4 Stroke PSAW Vertical flask type demonstration model, on metal base. This type of engine is used in Diesel cars, Jeeps, Buses, Trucks, Tractors and Generating sets This is an internal combustion type engine. The thermal energy which is released when the fuel is burned is converted into mechanical energy. In this type of engine air alone is drawn into the cylinder and is compressed in a ratio of 14:1 to 25:1. As a result of this high compression , air is heated to a temperature of 700oC to 900oC. Now a certain amount of diesel is injected into the cylinder. Because of the prevailing high temperature , the fuel ignites spontaneously. The four strokes involve are: 1. Intake stroke 2. Compression stroke 3. Power stroke 4. Exhaust stroke.
